Arizona is bordered by Utah to the north, California to the west, Nevada to the northwest, New Mexico to the east, and the Mexican state of Sonora to the south. The Colorado River forms the border between the states of California and Nevada.
Humphries Peak is the highest mountain peak in Arizona. The highest point is Humphreys Peak at 12,633 feet (3,851 m). Humphreys Peak was named after a US Army officer in about 1870 AD.
